Where to live in Đà Nẵng

The expat core. A dense grid of cafés, co-working, Western food and short-let apartments two minutes from Mỹ Khê beach. Everything is walkable, which is rare in Đà Nẵng, and you will hear more English here than anywhere else in the city. The trade-off is noise and construction.

One street back from An Thượng and noticeably quieter for it. Same beach access, more Vietnamese neighbours, rents roughly 15–20% lower. The usual pick for people on their second lease once they have worked out that they do not need to be inside the bar strip.

North along the peninsula: Phước Mỹ, Mân Thái, Thọ Quang. Wider beaches, far fewer foreigners, genuinely local food. You will want a motorbike. Good value if you can handle being twenty minutes from the An Thượng café scene.

Downtown, on the west bank of the Hàn River. Offices, hospitals, the big markets, riverside apartments with real city views. No beach walk, but this is where you live if you actually work in the city rather than from a laptop.

South towards the Marble Mountains and the Hội An road. Newer builds, wider streets, more space for the money, and the international schools cluster. Quiet to the point of sleepy if you are used to An Thượng.

The villa estates south of the Trần Thị Lý bridge — Euro Village and Nam Việt Á proper. Detached houses with gardens, gated streets, the highest concentration of expat families in the city. Priced accordingly.
